Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging drama lessons to students of various age groups and skill levels
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves
  • Plan and organize drama productions, including auditions, rehearsals, and performances
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing feedback and guidance to facilitate their development
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff on cross-curricular projects and extracurricular activities related to drama
  • Stay up-to-date with current drama education trends and techniques, incorporating them into lesson plans
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and any disciplinary issues

Requirements

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent certification
  • A bachelor's degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field
  • Previous experience teaching drama in a primary or secondary school setting
  • Excellent knowledge of drama education theories, techniques, and best practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage students and collaborate with colleagues
  • A creative mindset and a passion for nurturing students' artistic abilities
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Understanding of the national curriculum and assessment requirements in drama education
