About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide crucial support to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Working closely with teaching staff and specialists, your role will involve:
- Supporting students with their learning, behaviour, and social development.
- Providing tailored interventions for students with SEMH needs, ensuring their emotional well-being is nurtured.
- Helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assisting with the implementation of individual learning plans and behaviour management strategies.
- Building strong, supportive relationships with students, encouraging confidence and independence.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH or additional needs.
- A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- A commitment to supporting the emotional and educational development of every student.
- Relevant qualifications (such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) would be advantageous but not essential.
