University students interested in school work
Posted 20/01/2025 by Zen Educate
Are you currently studying at UWE or the university of Bristol? Are you doing a course in child development, education or psychology?
We are interested in speaking with anyone that would be keen to take on work with students supporting as a teaching assistant on a 1:1 basis. This can either be full time or part time depending on your preferences.
Working hours are 8:30-3:30, Monday to Friday and term time only.
The sorts of students you would likely do work with will have additional learning needs, so for example they could be on the autistic spectrum, or have mental health needs. We are looking for people that have a vested interest in catering to students development and reaching their learning goals.
Duties include;
- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis, working closely with the teacher and SENCO on the students learning goals and support plan
- Delivering a consistent, empathetic but firm approach when it comes to managing behaviours
- Being flexible to the school needs and having a pro-active approach to supporting in the classroom
- Following instructions set out by the teacher daily and feedback on student progress
In return, we offer competitive pay rates, online courses and training around working in a school environment and a great platform to manage your work diary.
In order to work with children an enhanced DBS on the update service is required as part of your application. So if you are looking to get some on hand experience in tandem with your studies, get in touch today.
