Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN tutor with QTS, looking to make a difference for a student who has been out of school for some time?
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled SEN Tutor to provide one-on-one support for a student who has not been attending school recently. The role will involve delivering tailored lessons and creating an engaging, supportive environment to help the student re-engage with learning and make academic progress. Based in the City of London, this position offers the opportunity to provide essential educational support to a student with special educational needs (SEN) who requires individualised attention and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 tutoring to a student who has been out of school for a period of time, supporting their return to education.
  • Develop and deliver personalised lesson plans that cater to the student’s unique learning needs, taking into account their individual SEN.
  • Create a nurturing and supportive learning environment to help the student build confidence and re-engage with their education.
  • Assess and monitor the student's progress, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet their evolving needs.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals (e.g., educational psychologists) to ensure a holistic approach to the student’s education.
  • Work to reintegrate the student into mainstream education or prepare them for further study, while maintaining a strong focus on emotional and academic well-being.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – essential.
  • Previous experience working with students who have SEN, especially those who have been out of school for an extended period, is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of a range of SEN, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder (ASD), dyslexia, ADHD, and anxiety-related barriers to learning.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit the needs of a student who may require additional emotional or behavioural support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build a positive, trusting relationship with both the student and their family.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching, with a commitment to the student's long-term success.

Why Join Us:

  • Supportive Team: Work in a collaborative and caring environment with other experienced educators and professionals.
  • Professional Development: Opportunities for further training and development in the field of SEN education.
  • Competitive Salary: Attractive salary package based on experience, with additional benefits.
  • Central Location: Conveniently located in the City of London with excellent public transport links.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an SEN tutor with QTS who is passionate about making a difference in the life of a student who requires individualised support to re-enter education. If you have experience working with students with additional needs and are ready to help a student who has been away from school reconnect with their learning, we would love to hear from you.
