Application Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, preferably with Autism or in an SEN setting
  • Strong understanding of Autism and related behavioural needs
  • Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups to support learning
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SENExcellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt and respond to individual needs in a classroom setting
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, Teaching Assistant Certificate) are desirable but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to children with Autism in a specialised unit
  • Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
  • Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
  • Help manage classroom behaviour, using positive reinforcement strategies
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
  • Encourage social, emotional, and academic development through structured activities
  • Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and SEN coordinators
  • Collaborate with staff, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent support
