Application Requirements:
- Experience working with children, preferably with Autism or in an SEN setting
- Strong understanding of Autism and related behavioural needs
- Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups to support learning
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SENExcellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt and respond to individual needs in a classroom setting
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, Teaching Assistant Certificate) are desirable but not essential
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to children with Autism in a specialised unit
- Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
- Help manage classroom behaviour, using positive reinforcement strategies
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
- Encourage social, emotional, and academic development through structured activities
- Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and SEN coordinators
- Collaborate with staff, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent support
