Learning Support Assistant (SEN & Challenging Behaviour)
Location: BS13 area
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with challenging behaviour, at a school located in the BS13 area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children who require additional support to thrive in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for children with SEN, focusing on those with challenging behaviour, Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
  • Assist with classroom activities and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to help the child stay focused, engaged, and regulated.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with the children, offering emotional and social support.
  • Encourage a positive, inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide tailored support for the child's needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, especially those with challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to use de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a patient and nurturing approach.
  • A passion for working with children and supporting their individual needs.
