Teaching Assistant

We require 2 Teaching Assistants to work within a SEND school in Lydiate. The right Teaching Assistants will be able to cater for primary aged children with a range of complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, enabling their academic development while creating inspiring opportunities for pupils’ social, moral, spiritual and cultural awareness.
Teaching Assistants work from 8:30-15:30 and this is a long term, full time role. The rates of pay will be £84 per day.
The main responsibilities for a Teaching Assistant are to:
• Support students with their socio-emotional engagement with learning and promote independence in a safe environment.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for each student.
• Promote the inclusion of all students, so that all have equal opportunities to feel included and to contribute to school life.
• Support class teachers to create a supportive and relaxed working environment that make students feel happy and secure.
• Implement the positive behaviour approaches set out by the school, including Restorative Practice and Zones of Regulation.
A good understanding of behaviour as communication, attachment theory, communication needs in the classroom, and theory underlying nurture provision are ideal for any professional working in our school.
