Progress Teachers are working closely with a mainstream  Secondary School in Smethwick that are looking to appoint an experienced and dedicated Teacher of Health and Social Care to support pupils to develop key knowledge and competencies, opening doors for them to enter varying fulfilling courses and careers related to the subject area.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Health and Social Care, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards.
  • Create a supportive learning environment that encourages participation.
  • Implement innovative teaching strategies and resources to cater to diverse needs.
  • Carefully assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues.
  • Stay updated on current trends, research, and advancements in the field of Health and Social Care, incorporating relevant content into lesson plans.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Health and Social Care or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification is highly advantageous, however, experienced non-qualified teachers will also be considered for the role.
  • Previous experience teaching Health and Social Care at the secondary school level is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Social Care principles, theories, and practices, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to students.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes equality and diversity.
  • A DBS on the Update Service OR willingness to obtain.
