SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH) - Bromley

Are you passionate about education and making a positive impact on students' lives? We are currently working with a Mainstream Secondary School in Bromley who are seeking an enthusiastic SEN teaching assistant with experience working with children with SEMH needs to join their team as soon as possible.

As a SEN teaching assistant at this school in Bromley, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' academic progress and personal development. You will work closely with classroom teachers, aiding during lessons, helping with planning and preparation, and offering individualized support to students who may require extra support.

Key Responsibilities for the SEN Teaching Assistant will include:

  • Supporting classroom teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Assisting with the planning and preparation of teaching materials.
  • Providing individual support to students with SEMH Needs
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students as a Teaching Assistant.

  • Participating in relevant professional development activities to enhance your skills.

Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Relevant experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of the secondary school curriculum and an understanding of teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and work with a diverse range of students.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to understand and support students' individual needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • A collaborative approach, working well within a team environment.
