Admissions and Attendance Officer

A Secondary school in Redbridge is looking for an Admissions & Attendance Officer.
You will be responsible for monitoring attendance and liaising within school and outside of school to follow up on any unauthorised absences and escalate matters in line with school policies. You will also assist with first aid duties and welfare duties. This role will also require you to monitor admissions and pass on the relevant information within the departments. You will also input and check that all new students in transition from Primary to Secondary have their records set up and that their files are imported to and from other schools. This role is for 36 hours per week, 44.8 weeks per year.

Job Responsibilities
- Responsibility for administration of attendance using SIMS
- Liaise with teams and follow up on unauthorised and frequent absences
- Attend meetings and work closely with the Education Welfare teams and Heads of Year to look at ways to positively encourage better attendance
- Enter information on the system with student records and ensure that all information is kept up to date at all times
- To produce reports as required for the Senior Leadership team
Preferred Skills:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- A minimum of grade C or above in English & Maths
- Excellent IT skills and proficient in the use of email and databases
- Knowledge and experience of SIMs
- Ability to cover administrative tasks with accuracy
- Good written English and effective communication skills
