Graduate Teaching Assistant

A large multi-cultural primary school in Southwark is recruiting several graduate teaching assistants to start in September 2022. These are full-time posts, until the end of the academic year. Working hours are 8.20am-4pm.
The school boasts state of the art equipment and benefits from having a large SEN department, which caters for various SEN and EAL needs. You will be required to support students with various special needs including SEMH, ASD, ADHD and Global delay.
Following instructions from the SENCO, you will work with your student 1:1 and assist in all lessons across the curriculum. You will be required to write daily reports of your pupils' behaviour and progress, reporting back to the SENCO, and giving input on ways to improve your students learning. You may also be required to work with outside agencies including speech therapists and educational psychologists.
As well as helping academically you will also be responsible for monitoring behaviour and helping to improve your students' self-esteem and confidence.
A degree in Psychology or a core subject is desirable.
Key skills and experience needed:
- Previous support work within a school or other child related experience
- Degree from a leading university
- Strong behaviour management skills
- One to one and small group work
- Professional manor
- Enthusiasm and friendly approach
