Our Client is a beautiful well established 60 place day nursery in the heart of Dalston E8. 

They are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join the team as a Nursery Chef/ Nursery Cook in Dalston.  

You would be managing the provision of freshly cooked meals for up to 50 children on a daily basis at present.

As Nursery Chef you will take pride in providing fresh, home-cooked meals and accommodating a variety of allergies, intolerances and cultural/ personal preferences. 

The successful candidate will be competent, passionate about cooking and able to maintain high levels of hygiene within the kitchen. You will be able to work well independently.

Job Types: Part-time 9:30am to 3:30 pm. 

Salary: Up to £24,000 per year

Required Skills:

This role requires the candidate ( Nursery Chef)  to have a catering/ food related Level 2 or 3 qualification, a valid Food Hygiene Certificate, Allergen Awareness training and experience of cooking for young children and babies.

Job Responsibility:

1) Preparing timely lunch and tea time meals and organising them into containers ready for distribution to the different group rooms within the nursery

2) Contributing to the construction of Nursery Menu’s in partnership with the management team

3) Adapting meals to cater for dietary requirements, allergies and availability of stock

4) Cleaning lunch and tea time dishes

5) Conducting opening and closing checks for the kitchen.

6) Maintaining all written records as required

7) Cleaning of the kitchen work surfaces, cupboards, floor and all appliances (including but not limited to Cooker, oven, extractor hood, fly catcher, toaster and kettle)

8) Cleaning the toilet next to the kitchen to uphold infection control procedures

9) Empty and wipe kitchen, toilet and staff room bins with antibacterial spray on a daily basis.

10) Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Nursery Manager and Nursery Coordinator.
