Full or Part-Time available

South Yorkshire – including Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster

FTC until end June 2023

£25k p/a pro rata

We have a couple of exciting opportunities for experienced Employability Coaches to join a dynamic charity in Sheffield which supports communities and helps young people and adults, particularly the vulnerable, to achieve their full potential in learning, employment and life.

The first opportunity is to support clients on an exciting grant funded Project which aims to work with economically inactive or unemployed participants from across the South Yorkshire Region to instil confidence and develop entrepreneurial skills so that they are better equipped to enter the job market and explore options for self-employment.

Successful outcomes of this project will include participants progressing to work, or to training, or the creation of a business/self-employment.

The second opportunity is to support a similar programme but focusing support specifically on care leavers aged 16-25 to support them into employment, education and training.

Responsibilities

Project Coaches will enable effective participant engagement through the direct delivery of, or signposting to, specialist and personalised interventions including mental health and wellbeing and employability and training by:

  • Being proactive in the local network by building relationships and attending local events to sign-up eligible people to the programme.
  • Maintaining contact with participants and offering personalised support through appropriate methods (e.g. face to face, telephone, digital - including use of social media and group work)
  • Tracking, supporting, and bridging participants into employment or alternative outcomes
  • Provide in work and/or learning support if appropriate
  • Engage with participants, employers, education, and training providers to ensure that outcomes are collected, evidenced and recorded to meet the specified participant targets defined by the programme

Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification or above in IAG, Youth Work, Health & Social Care or similar
  • Employability experience
  • Experience engaging and empowering clients from diverse backgrounds, particularly NEET, unemployed, or economically inactive
  • Driving licence & access to own transport

You must have a DBS within 12 months or be on the update service to apply.
