SEN Teaching Assistant must be available to start immediately working until July 2020

The Role - SEN Teaching Assistant

Our client's SEN setting would like to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant to support learners with ASD, PMLD and challenging behaviour aged between 16 - 25. The SEN Teaching Assistant must have the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with ASD learners using additional PECS & Makaton communication skills. The SEN Teaching Assistant will have previous experience of supporting ASD learners in either educational or care settings. The SEN Teaching Assistant will be working with learners on a 1:1 and group capacity level under the supervision of the classroom lecturer. The SEN Teaching Assistant will be available for an immediate start, giving commitment of working until the end of the academic year. The SEN Teaching Assistant must have English and Maths GCSE's grades A*-C within additional training in PECS, Makaton and TEACCH. All SEN Teaching Assistant applications must be open to providing personal care.

The School - SEN Setting, Borough of Hillingdon

The setting is located in the heart of Hillingdon and caters to 36 learners aged 16 - 25 with physical and learning disabilities including Autism, SLD, PMLD and extremely challenging behaviour. The setting is facilitated with parking for staff and is split in divisions across a modern built site. The school is part of a highly rated trust of schools catering to learners aged 4 - 25 across London and the surrounding counties.
