SEN Teaching Assistant
Do you have experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant and are looking for work immediately?
We have SEN work in the following areas – Ipswich, Lowestoft, Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, Felistowe, Stowmarket and Sudbury.
We have exciting opportunities across Suffolk for inspirational and highly supportive special education needs teaching assistants, learning mentors and 1:1 outreach workers, to join popular, flourishing and supportive special schools, alternative provisions and pupil referral units.
Taking on some classroom responsibilities within well- resourced classrooms
Assessing the individual needs of pupils and following their IEP’s
Evaluating and reporting pupils’ progress to teachers, carers and health care professionals
Managing challenging behaviour in a positive way
These roles will involve either small group work or working with students on a 1:1 basis so you will need to have good communication skills to be able to build strong relationships.
The successful candidates will have some experience within the following:
Social, Emotional and Mental Health – SEMH
Autism Spectrum Condition – ASC
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder – ADHD
Sever Learning Difficulties – SLD
Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties- PMLD
Experience of de-escalation techniques, Picture Exchange Communication (PECS) and Makaton would be a distinct advantage but not necessary.
