Have you got experience working with children or working with adults with additional needs?

Do you want to take on a new and exciting challenge working with Special Education Needs (SEN) pupils?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to support pupils between the ages of 11 – 19 in a high school and college in Salford. The pupils have severe learning difficulties (SLD) or profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). A number also manage challenging behavioural difficulties. The School works with many specialists to aid the learning of their students, including:

• A physiotherapist

• An occupational therapist

• Speech & language therapists

• Social workers

• An educational psychologist

• Advisory teachers for visual impairment and hearing impairment

The responsibilities of the role include:

• Working alongside the teacher to plan engaging lesson plans

• Delivering one-to-one help or working in small groups with pupils

• Preparing for lessons (e.g. gathering equipment and setting up the classroom)

• Helping pupils with their additional care needs (e.g. toileting and feeding)

The requirements for the role are:

• A DBS on the update service

• Experience working with children or working with adults with additional care needs

• A dedication to helping improve the learning of pupils

• Being a caring and resilient individual
