Contract: Long term, 5 days per week till July 2020

GSL Education is currently looking to appoint an exceptional citizenship teacher for a long term role in an outstanding secondary school based in Salford.

The role is based at a secondary school in Salford where employees are both valued and developed. The academic achievement of the school in terms of both attainment and progress has been commendable.  It is a school with passionate teachers and students who develop a strong sense of pride being part of the school. This school also has an outstanding Ofsted report, an extremely prestigious reputation and is an excellent place to work.

As such, the school is looking for an experienced citizenship teacher who is flexible and adaptable in their approach, dynamic in the classroom and with the ability to differentiate the learning material to a range of ability levels.  You will be responsible for planning, preparing and delivering engaging lesson material to KS3 & KS4 citizenship students across the school.

The successful candidate will:

  1. Be a qualified Citizenship Teacher (ideally with PGCE, SCHIIT, GTP, B.Ed, Cert Ed, BA with QTS)
  2. Be able to teach pupils in KS3 & KS4
  3. Have an enhanced DBS certificate
  4. Have two recent teaching references
  5. Be proven to raise and maintain attainment levels, keeping standards high
  6. Be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who leads by example
  7. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
