SEN Mathematics Teacher Required in Wiltshire from February 2019

We are currently looking for a Special Educational Needs teacher to teach Maths at a SEN School in Wiltshire. This role can be full-time or part-time and the school is easily accessible from places such as Bath and Swindon.

The SEN teacher role is to teach GCSE and Entry Level Maths from February 2019. If you were also able to teach PE this would be an advantage, but it is not essential for this role and applicants who just teach Maths are encouraged to apply. The school itself has pupils across Key Stages 1 to 4 and there may be the opportunities to teach Maths at lower key stages.

The ideal teacher for this role will have experience of working in a UK Primary or Secondary School, preferably with students who have special educational needs including EBD and MLD. Previous experience of working with pupils with SEN is not essential for this role however, and applicants will be considered who are looking to move into this specialist teaching field.

What is essential for this post is to hold QTS and have a positive, flexible and caring attitude and the ability to demonstrate an adaptable and committed teaching style. You must also be confident in your classroom management skills. This SEN teaching opportunity will require you to give 100% but you will be rewarded with the opportunity to work within a fantastic SEN teaching team within this highly regarded SEN school.

Within this role you will:
- Be teaching small classes of between 10 to 12 pupils alongside additional teaching support
- Be responsible for creating a secure, motivating and supportive learning environment where each child feels valued.
- Play a key role in securing the progress and achievement for a group of children with various abilities
- Manage challenging behaviour and actively participate in extra curriculum activities of the school

The school has a strong reputation within the community great fantastic facilities. It has recently expanded into a whole new block of facilities to include a brand new Primary block. Within the school there is a very large and dedicated learning support team to provide support for teaching staff, working very closely with pupils and teachers to ensure the progression of learners within lessons. The school is accessible by public transport from Bath and the nearby towns and there is parking available on-site.

This role is initially temporary but our positions at this school often become permanent as we have an excellent relationship with our client and we have previously placed people into both full-time and part-time roles at the school. The daily rate of pay for this role is £1020 to £150 per day depending upon the number of years teaching experience you have.

Subjects that have been particularly sought after so far this year at this school for long-term roles include English, Science, ICT and PE, but we welcome applicants from any subject specialism.

If you would like to apply for this role please contact Helen Needham at Monarch Education by applying online or via email on If you are successful in being appointed for this role you will be required to provide an up to date cv, two educational references, have a face to face interview and have an up to date DBS certificate check.

Monarch Education has been awarded the REC Gold Standard to denote excellence in providing staff to schools. Alternatively, if you know of someone who would suit this role, or someone who is looking to gain experience of working within the SEN environment as either an SEN teaching assistant or teacher, we offer a £200 referral fee.
