SEN Teacher - Leeds

Are you a Primary, Secondary Teacher or FE Teacher who has experience working with children with Severe Profound Learning Difficulties (SLD) or (PMLD), Autism or SEMH?

If so we have a vacancy starting in February 2019 in Leeds initially for one term but could go on longer for the right candidate. The school caters for children and young people who have severe learning difficulties and those who have profound learning difficulties, a number of students have autistic spectrum disorders.

The school offers each child a highly individualised education appropriate to their level of ability and needs.

The school will fit teachers to the classes that suit them best wherever they can and the classes are small with up to 10 pupils with 3 or 4 support staff and pupils are grouped according to need and roughly by age.

Person specification

You will be a qualified teacher (QTS) or (PGCE) with a proven track record working within the Special Education Needs sector.

Have experience of working with children in either Primary or Secondary with SLD/PMLD or ASC.

Have the ability to differentiate work according to each child’s individual needs.

You must be resilient and a good communicator who can work closely with your colleagues, external agencies and parents.
