Tradewind is looking for an ASD Teaching Assistant for a special school in North London. The role is full time starting ASAP with scope to continue into next academic year or become permanent.

The school:

The school caters for students aged 5-19 who have a primary diagnosis of autism and difficulties associated with social communication. Staff here aim to enable every child to flourish by encouraging and building upon their unique strengths and interests, working with students to develop and deploy strategies to overcome and cope with their difficulties. Families are offered the support and advice they need to feel confident and informed about their child's needs and future prospects.

As an ASD Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for the below:

  • Supporting students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • Encouraging and promoting student engagement in learning activities
  • Contributing to support plans and strategies to meet the needs of each student
  • Collaborating with staff, parents/carers, and outside agencies
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and achievements

To join us and be successful in this role you will ideally need :

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, ideally ASD
  • An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
