SPR are recruiting for a full time Nursery Officer based within the Birmingham area. The ideal candidate will provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children within the nursery. The salary for this role will be dependent on experience. 

This role will involve working as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children
can play, develop and learn. Also, build and maintain strong partnership working with parents to enable children’s needs to be met.

  • Hours: Full time, term time. 
Essential Requirements of a Nursery Officer: 
  • Enhanced DBS - Childrens 
  • Previous experience working within a Nursery
  • Relevant qualifications

Role and Responsibilities of a Nursery Officer: 
  • Effectively aid in the delivery of the curriculum, ensuring that the individual needs and interests of the children in the setting are being met. 
  • Promote a quality curriculum that upholds established nursery policies, regarding sensitivity to the needs and requirements of different ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds and to provide a curriculum which supports the community.
  • Record child development and learning journeys, sharing the information with the relevant guardian, parent, carer etc. 
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needs. 
  • Provide all aspects of basic care for children aged two to five years.
  • Support nursery teachers and provide a high quality environment for the children.
  • Must be aware of individual needs of the children such as; disabilities, family history and/or medical needs and cultures.
  • Advise manager / deputy of any concerns, e.g. children, parents, the safety of the environment,
    preserving confidentiality as necessary.
  • Aid the children’s learning as effectively as possible, encouraging their development towards
    becoming independent learners
  • Clarify and explain instructions.
