Are you looking to gain more experience working with children in an education environment?

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a Welsh Medium Primary School in Pontypridd, seeking a reliable and committed individual with the ability to speak Welsh fluently to work as a learning support assistant. Within this role you will be working alongside a child in Foundation Phase who has been diagnosed with high functioning autism, as well as supporting the children in the general classroom. You do not need experience working within a school for this role, however experience working with children with additional learning needs in another environment would be beneficial to this role.

What do daily responsibilities look like in this role?

-          Supporting the child with reading and writing

-          Leading small groups of reading sessions

-          Supporting the child with social interaction in the class as well as offering support to the general classroom

-          De-escalating situations if they may arise

-          Preparing classroom for activities

-          Ensuring classroom is tidy at the end of the day

What are the vetting requirements?

-          Enhanced Child Only DBS on the update service

-          Registration with the Education Workforce Council

-          2x professional references

-          Valid UK Passport

-          Strong fluency in Welsh

(We can help with both the DBS and EWC application)
