Job Title: Education Officer At-Bristol
Permanent, Full Time
37.5 per week, normally Monday to Friday. May includes occasional weekend days.  
If you love science and education and want to share your ability and experience, this exciting opportunity to join the Education team in one of the UK’s leading science centres may be for you. At-Bristol welcomes 60,000 school visitors a year - offering two floors of hands-on science experience along with and a broad education program of workshops, shows and theme days. 
As a key part of the Education Team you would work closely with the Education Manager to support the team and help develop and deliver innovative science learning experiences and events that support and enrich the school curriculum across all key stages.  The role is a varied and busy one involving working with schools, liaising with others within and beyond At-Bristol and responding flexibly to the demands of a dynamic working environment. 
Experience and Knowledge
Experience of delivering educational science activities to a school audience – including in a laboratory
Educated to minimum of degree level in a relevant scientific discipline
PCGE (or equivalent) in secondary science preferred
Experience of producing educational resources, including clear, concise written material
Familiarity with the current National Curriculum
Experience of managing projects and organising events
Web-editing skills
Experience of managing or mentoring other staff or volunteers
Experience of delivering CPD to teachers
Training in risk assessment and health and safety processes
Proficiency in computing and coding
Personal skills & attributes
Enthusiasm for science as a transformative and vital part of life
Ability to research and understand new and varied scientific topics
Confident, flexible and engaging presenter / educator
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lead and manage complex tasks and events, both educational and administrative
Innovative and self-motivated
Excellent time-management skills
A keen eye for detail, quality and scientific accuracy
Proficiency in office-based ICT (including Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc)
Good team player with ability to enthuse and motivate others
Ability to work safely and effectively within a lab-based environment
