History Teacher | Secondary History Teacher | Blackburn This exciting Secondary History Teacher position available for a 12 month contract starting in September 2017 is the perfect opportunity to join a thriving secondary school in Blackburn. This History Teacher position will teach a variable timetable of both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 class groups. Through the use of primary and secondary sources you will be required to plan and deliver lessons that engage students and provide challenge. Lessons should include discussion and debate, where appropriate, to stretch understanding and give students the best opportunity to make good progress as independent learners. The school caters for over 900 students and through the use of state of the art facilities and outstanding teaching and learning aims to inspire students to achieve. The provision of excellent pastoral care supports every individual in their contribution to the school community through determination, creativity and positive attitude – as well as nurturing learners in their daily lives. After being graded by Ofsted as a school that ‘Requires Improvement’ – the head teacher and senior leaders have developed a plan to deliver this improvement and strive towards achieving the school’s aim. Any successful candidate should be dedicated in assisting the school through the delivery of good and outstanding teaching.
