Job Title: ASD (Autism) SEN Teaching Assistants Monarch Education Recruitment
Title: ASD (Autism) SEN Teaching Assistants required for an SEN Residential Care School for pupils aged 7-17 in the beautiful setting of Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire. Introduction: If you are experienced supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, particularly with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) in a school, specialist or care setting then this could be the role for you! Environment - Monarch Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Residential School in Tewkesbury who are looking for caring, energetic and hard-working Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 support for pupils with Autism (ASD) and this would be an extremely rewarding experience. Environment and person spec: The school requires experienced SEN Teaching Assistants / Learning Support Assistants who are: • experienced supporting pupils or adults with Autism; must have a strong understanding of how pupil’s need can be met within a mainstream setting • confident managing challenging behaviour in the classroom and using de-escalation techniques. Team-Teach trained is not essential but would be a great advantage • skilled working with pupils with communication difficulties; PECS training is advantageous but not essential • able to demonstrate the impact you have had a child’s progress and development • Degree, Cache Level 3, NVQ 1,2,3, any form of SEND Qualification If you want to assist in supporting pupils learning in a rewarding environment this is the role for you. If you want to top up your earnings with Christmas on its way then this is the role for you as the school have weekend shifts available.
